Overview of 2007
Two outer planets changes sign this year, Saturn,
which will be in Leo until it enters Virgo on September 2nd and
Jupiter, which will be in Sagittarius until December 18, when it enters
Capricorn. Besides that, on
December 11th Jupiter conjuncts Pluto, which only happens every 13
years. Pluto is on the verge of
entering Capricorn, it enters in January, 2008. This means that the end of 2007 it will be on the
Sagittarius Ð Capricorn cusp.
Because Jupiter is in Sagittarius (see Jupiter in Sagittarius), the sign it
rules, people are opened to adventure, travel, and philosophy -- they want to
stretch. It is like New Year's resolutions, but for a year straight. Everybody
wants to improve themselves.
Jupiter in Capricorn is
a more serious placement. Jupiter,
which is usually more humorous, open-minded, and reasonable becomes focused on
achievement and ÒbetteringÓ the obstacles which Capricorn places in its path. ÒIt may be a disaster, but we came out
on topÓ, says Jupiter in Capricorn.
Even when Jupiter is humorous, it is a very dark
humor. ÒI canÕt believe it is this
badÓ laughs Jupiter in Capricorn.
The remaining outer planets, Uranus, Neptune, and
Pluto remain in their signs.
Uranus is still in Pisces, Neptune is in Aquarius, and Pluto is in
Sagittarius. Neptune in Aquarius
gives us nebulous fears (and demagoguery about these fears) but also allows us
to have faith in science and to bring together science and faith (personally, I
believe in intelligent design -- the method: evolution!). Pluto in Sagittarius gives power
to religion and makes those who are religious become fanatically
proselytizing. However, it also
makes people speak truth to power, explore new paradigms for power, and uncover
the truth with zeal. See Neptune in Aquarius and Pluto in Sagittarius for more details.
Uranus in Pisces lightens the Neptune in
Aquarius. With Uranus ruling
Aquarius where Neptune is placed and Neptune ruling Pisces where Uranus is
placed, this puts them in "mutual dispositorship". This has some of the qualities of a
conjunction of these two planets.
Uranus is in the more humorous Pisces. Here the oddness of Uranus is looked upon with humor rather
than fear (as it was in Aquarius).
And revolutionaries are looked upon as freeing from the old rather than
forcing change upon the fearful.
For more information, see Uranus in Pisces.
There are three Saturn aspects. Saturn aspects last for about 2 weeks, a week and a half before the date given and a week after. Jupiter aspects, in contrast, only last a week total (3 or 4 days before and 2-3 days afterwards).
Saturn in Leo opposes Neptune in Aquarius on February
28th retrograde and June 25th, the final direct. This is
the battle of personal boundaries, of personal accomplishments being
aggrandized, versus the need to merge into the group, into humanity. "I
accomplished that" versus "we all merged our ideas and our talents to
make it happen". Friendships will be tested at this time -- are you a real
friend or are you simply out for yourself? Are you free, or are you bound by
your own ego? These
oppositions will feel like one long Mercury retrograde to some in the sense
that peopleÕs confidence in their ability to ground will be sorely tried by the
confusion in their brains as their minds fly off into all the possibilities.
Others will become depressed as they note how far their dreams are from
practical reality. The best
outcome will be achieved by those with their Neptunian heads in the clouds and
their Saturnine feet on the ground.
Also, Saturn in Leo trines Pluto in Sagittarius on
August 6th. This is a
time to get it all together and push through some accomplishment that nobody
thought you could pull off.
Fate and an inner conviction have mapped it out for you, and now you
simply manifest it based on confidence and creativity. Unfortunately, this could be a time
when fanatics try to push through their rigid controls and structures in an
overbearing way based on large fears (the negative sides of Pluto in
Sagittarius and Saturn in Leo).
Two Jupiter aspects form throughout the year
culminating in the Jupiter Ð Pluto conjunct on December 11th. On January 22nd, May 11th,
and October 9th Jupiter in Sagittarius squares Uranus in
Pisces. Sagittarius square Pisces
is usually involved with success (Jupiter and Sagittarius) versus failure
(Pisces). Uranus in Pisces is the
joyful, penniless mendicant or the little boy perceiving that the emperor has
no clothes. PeopleÕs eyes are
focused on the rich and famous, on the fad of the month, but also on mysticism
and spirituality. Oddness is
tolerated, not feared.
Jupiter in Sagittarius succeeds in getting people
enthusiastic about improving themselves and combining on common causes. The negative form is when there is snobbery. During this square snobbery can be
expressed against those who are perceived (Uranus) as being failures (Pisces) Ð
perhaps those who are too comfortable with failure (or, horrors, even joyful in
helping the downtrodden as many saints are). More positively, the square can be used to turn failures
into successes, to stop saying ÒwhateverÓ (Pisces) to parts of your life you
would rather not face. Instead,
you can face these abandoned parts and use them to create a successful outcome,
however you define success.
On March 16th and May 6th
Jupiter in Sagittarius trines Saturn in Leo. This is a continuation of the Jupiter - Saturn cycle which started in
May, 2000 and lasts 20 years. Here
the first third of the cycle is complete.
Since the conjunction was the last in an earth sign for 800 years, we
are continuing a throw back to earth (the 1980 was in air, and we will be in
air for the next 200 years).
However, here we are experiencing fire (Sagittarius and Leo) applied to
earth.
For anyone tuned in, this is the time to take your
practical, proven (Saturn) abilities and creativity (Leo) and turn them into ideas
that will fire up others (Jupiter in Sagittarius). If ever there was an aspect for accomplishment, this is
it. Just one warning, if your ego
is greater than your physical actuality (Leo overpowering Saturn) or you try to
bulldoze and control (Saturn plus negative, overbearing Leo) then the outcome
will not only be negative, it will be stupendously (all that Jupiter and Leo)
negative.
Jupiter conjoins Pluto every 13 years. Hopefully, it will lighten up the
fanaticism when it conjoins Pluto in Sagittarius on December 11th (although it
may exacerbate it as well, since Pluto in Sagittarius is already a bit
megolomaniacal -- Jupiter can increase that). But the most important part of the Jupiter Ð Pluto conjunct
is that it usually signals a change in the financial winds. Every major shift from bull to bear and
vica versa happened during one of these conjunctions (although not all
conjunctions interchange bull and bear).
Most of these conjunctions signal a ÒcorrectionÓ since the financial
fundamentals shift, and the markets tend to go down when that is happening due
to fear and uncertainty.
This will probably be a shift from bear to bull, since
we have been in a bear phase since 2000 and the effects start to happen when
Jupiter and Pluto are in the same sign (in this case, Sagittarius, since late
November, 2006). The conjunction
takes place at the end of the year and at the end of Sagittarius, practically
on the Sagittarius Ð Capricorn cusp.
Of course, throughout the year Mercury retrogrades
happen. February 14th through March 8th, June 15th through July 10th, and
October 12th through November first. During these times it is best to work on
thoughts and writings that have already occurred, not a time to start new ones.
Better to edit than to write new prose.
Better to fix than to create.
Better to take a writing class than to write. People's communications, personal gadgets, and mail all
break down. Of course, vows and contracts would be best put off until the
retrograde ends
